About the event
"Nueve de cada diez estrellas de cine me hacen llorar" Winner of the IV Edition of the Escena Abierta Playwriting Contest is an original play by Tomás Buccella. In this story, Claribel has devoted her life to caring for Edith, an elderly woman who is unable to take care of herself and barely perceives what is happening around her. Hospitalized in a clinic, Edith’s life is coming to an end.
To ease her passing — or perhaps to delay it — Claribel envisions a possible future with the elderly woman, filling her present with the emotions from her favorite movies. Immersed in these cinematic tales, the characters flood the room, taking over everything.
For Claribel, movie stars evoke more emotion than real life.
Enjoy the dramatic reading of the play in Spanish, with live English translation/captions available.
Hearing assistance devices will be provided in the room where the program begins. We recommend bringing your own headphones.
