Project Type
Theater for children | Theater in Spanish
Date
June 2021
Produced by Open Scene as part of the first FLAE, El Soplador de Estrellas (The Stars Blower) is a heartwarming story of love and hope, originally written by Argentine playwright Ricardo Talento, directed by Gio Quezada, with original music by Miguel Salas.
The story follows Maestro Bornolio, an eccentric inventor with an unusual job—he blows out stars! Using his ingenious creation, the Retractable Stelaerophore, he extinguishes stars like birthday candles, making heartfelt wishes for a better world.
Longing for companionship, he hires an assistant, and that’s when Cibelina, an unconventional young girl, arrives. However, she disagrees with Bornolio’s star-blowing mission and is determined to stop him. Along their journey, full of challenges and whimsical misunderstandings, both discover an important lesson about love and the power of dreams.
Performed in Spanish with descriptive English audio segments, the production featured four original songs with live piano accompaniment and captivated audiences with its 50-minute blend of music, magic, and storytelling.
