About the event

CENTRAL FLORIDA PREMIERE. Open Scene brings France’s Alcoléa & Cie to Central Florida with Right in the Eye, a live cine-concert that reimagines 12 films by cinematic pioneer Georges Méliès through live music, sound, performance, and theatrical invention.

Three musicians create the score before your eyes using more than 50 instruments and unusual sound objects, including theremin, aquaphone, piano frame, percussion, and everyday materials. Poetic, playful, and visually inventive, the performance brings the imagination of early cinema into dialogue with contemporary sound.

This is not a traditional film screening with musical accompaniment. The musicians, instruments, and creation of the soundtrack are part of the spectacle itself.
