El Soplador de Estrellas play by Open Scene: A Magical Tale of Dreams and Hope

Project Type

Theater for children | Theater in Spanish

Date

June 2021

El Soplador de Estrellas (The Stars Blower) is a heartwarming theatrical production presented by Open Scene as part of the inaugural Latin Performing Arts Festival (FLAE). Originally written by Argentine playwright Ricardo Talento, the play was directed by Gio Quezada and featured original music by Venezuelan composer Miguel Salas.

Performed in Spanish with descriptive English audio segments, the story centers on Maestro Bornolio, an eccentric inventor who extinguishes stars with his machine—the Retractable Stelaerophore—making wishes for a better world. When he hires Cibelina, a spirited and unconventional assistant who questions his mission, the two embark on a whimsical journey that reveals profound lessons about love, dreams, and human connection.

With four original songs and live piano accompaniment, this 50-minute family-friendly performance captivated audiences through a magical blend of music, storytelling, and imagination. El Soplador de Estrellas invites viewers of all ages to believe in the beauty of dreams and the importance of hope.
