VOICES 2021 | Letters into Performance

VOICES 2021 grew out of Open Scene’s first Exhibition of Epistolary Texts, developed in late 2020. The project transformed four real-life letters by women into performance, bringing personal experiences of addiction, domestic violence, grief, and survival into a shared theatrical space. Presented in Spanish and followed by community conversation, VOICES used testimony and performance to create a setting for reflection on resilience, vulnerability, and the act of making private stories public.
