Produced by Open Scene and directed by Thamara Bejarano, Yerma reimagined Federico García Lorca’s tragedy for digital presentation. Recorded entirely with mobile phones and released for streaming, the adaptation used a minimal visual language to bring the play’s themes of desire, social expectation, isolation, and motherhood into an intimate contemporary frame. The cast featured Giovanna Quezada, Jerald Speare, Guillermo Suárez, Claudia Caicedo, and Ana Cantorán. Created for online audiences, the project continued Open Scene’s exploration of how classic Spanish-language theater could be reworked through accessible digital tools.
