Open Scene proudly celebrated theater in Spanish for the second consecutive year as part of the Orlando Fringe Festival, presenting the winning play of the Escena Abierta II Playwriting Contest. Written by Abraham Hanze, directed and adapted by Kelly Sánchez, and starring Abigaíl Laboy, the performance invited audiences to reconnect with the lands and stories we left behind. Featuring music by Olga Guillot, Celia Cruz, Gloria Estefan, and live chords by Andrés Guzmán, this powerful staging honored memory, migration, and resilience.
