Presented by Open Scene as part of VOICES 2023, Puerperio is a production by Proyecto Puerperio that examines the postpartum period beyond idealized narratives of motherhood. Through multiple female voices, the work explores loneliness, maternal lineage, violence, and the emotional transformations that can follow childbirth. After the performance, UCF scholar Dr. Charlotte Trinquet du Lys led a conversation that expanded on the work’s literary and cultural themes.
