The first Songs from the Hispanic Diaspora brought Open Scene and the Central Florida Composers Forum together at Timucua Arts Foundation on August 17, 2024. Six newly commissioned works paired contemporary Central Florida composers with poetry from the Spanish-speaking world, creating an intimate musical exploration of exile, displacement, memory, and belonging. Thamara Bejarano and Charlie Griffin guided the audience through the program, establishing a collaborative series that would continue in subsequent seasons.
