Experience

Date

February 2025

Location

Winter Park Library

On Saturday, February 22, 2025, as part of its annual HeART & Soul program, the Winter Park Library partnered with Open Scene to present The Harlem Renaissance Immersive Experience, an unforgettable celebration of art, culture, and history.
Attendees explored eight immersive stations throughout the library’s first floor:
• The Mirror, honoring cultural icons like Josephine Baker and Duke Ellington
• The Faces, a continuous documentary projection
• The Look, a curated vintage fashion exhibit
• The Paints, showcasing artworks by Harlem Renaissance visual artists
• The Words, celebrating writers such as Langston Hughes and Zora Neale Hurston
• Art Exhibition, bridging past and present through contemporary perspectives
• The Music, with live jazz echoing from the Stairwell Rotunda
• The Flavors, featuring culinary creations by Eight Heaven Food Truck
This interactive journey offered a powerful glimpse into the Harlem Renaissance’s enduring legacy and cultural richness, revived through storytelling, music, visual art, and community gathering.
Relive the magic and stay connected to future experiences by following Open Scene’s programs. Your presence makes these celebrations possible.
